Scene: JNN Studio – Elizabeth and Andrew are seated at the main news desk. Wolf is at the Situation Desk. "ON AIR" sign flashes.
Elizabeth:
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to JNN – the Jerusalem News Network.
I’m your anchor, Elizabeth, with the latest developments shaking Jerusalem and beyond.
Reports are coming in about a certain carpenter-turned-preacher—Jesus ben Joseph of Nazareth—causing yet another stir.
He’s accused of calling temple leaders “whitewashed tombs” and giving architecture advice.
Andrew: (sarcastic)
Architecture advice? That’s rich! What did he say—build with stronger nails?
Elizabeth:
Actually… he compared their lives to houses built on sand.
Apparently, Jesus claims that listening to God’s word—but not living it—is like constructing your whole life on a crumbling foundation.
Andrew:
Well, we do have a sand shortage…
Elizabeth:
Let’s go to Wolf ben Benjamin at the Situation Desk. Wolf?
Wolf:
Thanks, Elizabeth. More from the Nazarene’s traveling sermons—he told a rather dramatic story about a man named Neues.
Wealthy. Powerful. Probably had sandals made of imported leather.
Andrew:
Fancy!
Wolf:
Then he dies. Buried with honor.
But in the afterlife? He’s in torment. Meanwhile, the beggar at his gate—Lazarus—is welcomed into paradise.
Elizabeth: (offended)
You’re saying this beggar, this dog-licked man, ends up with the blessing—and the rich man gets judgment?
Wolf:
That’s exactly what Jesus said.
And when Neues begs for someone to warn his family, Abraham tells him, “Even if someone rises from the dead, they won’t believe.”
Moment of stunned silence around the studio.
Andrew:
That’s… bold.
Elizabeth:
That’s dangerous.
Wolf:
That’s news.
Lights dim. "ON AIR" sign flicks off.
