Meet Our Writers (And Share Your Story With Us)
At DramaShare, we believe that God gives creative gifts to everyday people to help build up His Church.
Whether you are an experienced playwright who has written dozens of scripts, or a Sunday School teacher who just penned your very first holiday skit, we want to provide a space where your words can serve ministries around the world.
Our goal is simple: to help churches communicate the Gospel clearly, and to give writers a trusted place to share their work for God’s glory.
Featured DramaShare Writers
We are incredibly grateful for the writers who partner with us to provide high-quality, ministry-focused resources. Below, you can meet some of our contributors and explore their scripts.
John Alexander

John Alexander, along with his wife Judy, founded DramaShare in 1985 with a simple vision: to help everyday church volunteers share the Gospel through drama.
John never set out to be a theater expert. He was simply a man who saw a need in the church and stepped up to fill it. Over the decades, he wrote hundreds of practical, warm, and often humorous scripts and training guides that made drama approachable for churches of all sizes.
Today, we are honored to carry on John and Judy’s legacy, helping a new generation of writers and ministries use drama to point people to Jesus.
Blake Randolph
Blake Randolph lives in Sevier County, Tennessee, with his wife and their two horses. He has always had a deep passion for writing stories and scripts that do more than just entertain. For Blake, the real goal of writing is to draw people closer to the Lord. He feels incredibly blessed to share his creative gifts with the DramaShare family and is excited to see how God uses his scripts to encourage others.

Bruce Maples

Bruce Maples is a writer based in Louisville, Kentucky, who loves helping churches see familiar biblical events in a brand-new light. Rather than keeping scripture behind "stained-glass," Bruce’s writing focuses on the warm, real, and wonderfully human moments of faith. His popular Christmas play, Jake, Mary, and Jesus, is a perfect example—telling the story of Christ’s birth through the eyes of an ordinary next-door neighbor. Bruce writes with a heart for practical, flexible staging, making it easy for ministries of any size or budget to share the Gospel.
- Jake, Mary, and Jesus – A warm and unique Christmas readers' theater play told from the perspective of Jesus’s childhood neighbor.
Kathryn Chopee

Kathryn Chopee is a writer who believes that drama is, above all else, a way to point people to Jesus. When she first shared her Christmas play with DramaShare, she made her heart clear: she simply wanted her work to be used to bring people closer to the Lord. As a first-time playwright, Kathy poured her heart and creative energy into crafting a script that is both deeply moving and highly practical for churches of all sizes to stage. Her writing is fresh, thoughtful, and filled with creative touches—like telling the nativity story through the eyes of two curious children whose uncle was one of the Bethlehem shepherds. Kathy’s humble, Christ-centered approach perfectly reflects the heart of the DramaShare family.
- Celebrate the Promise – A beautiful, 60 to 70-minute Christmas program that follows two children into the Temple, where they meet Simeon and Anna and discover the true wonder of the kept promise of the Messiah.
