As the newlyweds share their first dance, a proud grandparent watches quietly from the sidelines—heart full, eyes misty. But behind the silence is a rich and heartfelt prayer.

This moving 2–3 minute monologue captures the inner thoughts of a grandmother (or grandfather) as she reflects on the beauty of marriage, the challenges ahead, and her deepest desire: that God will walk every step of the journey with this young couple—and with the family they will one day raise.

Perfect as a standalone performance, voiceover, or part of a wedding-themed production, While They Dance brings tenderness, faith, and generational love center stage.

Cast

  • 1 narrator (Grandmother or Grandfather)

Optional staging:

  • Couple dancing silently on stage while narration is spoken or pre-recorded

But real love—lasting love—asks to be renewed.
Not just on days like this… but on ordinary Tuesdays. On hard Wednesdays. In quiet, unseen moments.

And they won’t always get it right.
No one does.
That’s why I pray they never try to do this alone.

I want God in every part of their marriage.
In their laughter.
In their . . .
