Seenager: Then and Now is a heartwarming and humorous two-part skit that celebrates the joy of growing older while honoring the hope of youth. It begins with a delightful monologue from a “Seenager”—a senior with the spirit of a teenager—reflecting on the freedoms and blessings of later life. In the second half, we flash back to the same character as a hopeful teen, writing a letter to their future self.

Together, these two voices—one full of wisdom, the other full of dreams—reveal a life lived with joy, resilience, and purpose. Ideal for intergenerational events, senior celebrations, or worship services focused on calling, aging, or legacy, this skit blends laughter with inspiration and reminds us that every season of life has beauty worth celebrating.

Part 1 – Today (Seenager)

A cheerful senior enters with a playful dance step—maybe a little twist, finger snap, or spin. They beam at the audience, full of energy and confidence.

I am a Seenager. . . . A senior teenager.
I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work.
I get an allowance cvery month. I have my own pad.
I don't have a curfew and I dance until I can’t.
I have a driver's license and my own car. I have traveled all over.

I have ID that gets me into bars and the wine store. I just choose not to go there.

The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, they aren’t scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared, . . . and I don't have acne.

Life is good! Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.

Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains.

Scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.
Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so too do humans take longer to access information when their brains are . . .

Part 2 – Flashback (Teenage Self)

A younger version of the Seenager enters. She’s got a hoodie draped over one shoulder, a backpack half-zipped, and a math book tucked under her arm. She does a little dance step—maybe a shoulder shimmy or a quick spin—but it’s cut short as she plops down cross-legged or at a small desk, opening her notebook.

Teen Version:
Dear future me—

I hope you’re still dancing like nobody’s watching.
Still laughing until you can’t breathe.
