All, loud:
Great Gal, Great Gal, Great Gal
Na na na na na na na na Robyn!
(Great Gal and Robyn stop. Great Gal gets off the Greatmobile.)
Great Gal:
Please park the Greatmobile, Robyn.
Robyn:
Great surging tidal waves, Great Gal! I would for sure be proud to park the Greatmobile... Umm, do you think I could, like, drive it rather than just push it, huh?
Great Gal:
No, no, I really don’t think that would be wise, Robyn! You must remember that this is a highly engineered Great Vehicle, capable of reaching blinding speeds.
Robyn:
I understand, Great Gal. It’s just that I hope someday maybe...
Great Gal:
Well, Robyn, you have to understand that I haven’t always been the impressive superhero that I am today. I dare say, your day will come, Robyn!
(Jennie and Peter come on stage.)
Jennie:
Hey, who are you guys?
Great Gal:
Who are we? Just who do we look like?
Peter:
Well, it’s too early for Halloween and too late for “Shop ‘Til You Drop at the Goodwill Days” celebration...
Robyn (shocked):
You mean that you don’t recognize the most awesome superhero ever?
Peter (confused):
Superhero?
Robyn:
For sure...(sings) Na na na na na na na na Great Gal!
Peter (amazed):
Great Gal?
Great Gal (to Peter):
Just to throw this out there, but... do you always answer a question with a question?
Robyn:
Surely you must know the superhero Great Gal... and I am her trusted assistant, Robyn!
Great Gal:
I have even got a theme song and everything!
(Song repeats.)
Jennie:
And... the reason you are here at church is...?
Great Gal:
We heard that there was gonna be some kind of water happening.
Robyn (looking at Great Gal in admiration):
And Great Gal is an in-demand superhero at water happenings all over!
Peter:
Water happenings?
Great Gal:
There you go again, answering a question with a question.
Jennie:
I can’t think of a “water happening” here at church... except, well, there is going to be a baptism.
Great Gal:
Baptism? And that would be...?
(The dialogue continues as Jennie explains baptism, leading to humorous and meaningful discussion.)
Jennie: Baptism. . . When folks become Christians and they are baptized.
GGal: And what do they do in this here . . baptism? . . And why?
Jennie: Well, the pastor lowers the person into the water . .
Robyn: I do that with my friends sometimes; toss them under water, hilarious actually.
Peter: This is serious; pastor immerses the person in water.
GGal: On purpose?
Jennie: It is symbolic.
Robyn: Sounds silly actually, tossing someone under water, and not getting any laughs out of it.
Jennie: Going under the water symbolizes how God washes away sins when we give our life to him.
GGal: So my guess is you guys got a big ol’ dunk tank.
Peter: Called a baptismal font.
GGal: Whatever. So who brings the soap for this scrub-a-dub-dub washing away of sins?
Peter: No soap.
Robyn: I don’t understand . . don’t your folks have like bath tubs at home they can use?
