Forgive Forget Counting

This comedy skit deals with counting the number of times we have forgiven.

And also keeping track versus forgiving and forgetting the way God does.
Remember we not only have to forgive people, we have to forgive what they did to us. An impacting drama well written by former DramaShare member Becky Medlock.

• Tommy: Not the brightest crayon in the box.
• Sarah: Pastor’s daughter
• Robby: Brainiac; engineering type. Loves math and science stuff.

Sample of script:

Tommy enters, stops at center stage and silently counts on his fingers. He is concentrating and getting more and more aggravated as he keeps starting over.
Sarah enters smiling, but slows to a halt and the smile fades off her face when she notices Tommy. She pauses and watches him for a few seconds.

SARAH: Hey brainiac, let me guess. You are counting the number of brain cells you have.

TOMMY: You know…hey! Is that possible?

SARAH, rolling her eyes: I don’t know but it shouldn’t take you long to count yours.

TOMMY: Really! Gee thanks!

SARAH, mockingly: Really! Gee thanks! (looks away and shakes head.) What were you doing when I came in?

(Tommy goes back to counting with his fingers)

SARAH: Well…?

TOMMY: This is what I was doing! (continues to count).

SARAH, smacks her forehead in frustration: OK, Tommy, (talks like he is a little kid), let’s try this again. Now what was Tommy doing when Sarah walked into the room?

(Tommy goes back to counting with his fingers)

SARAH: No! No! No! (trying to be patient) What is it you were counting?

TOMMY: Well, if I knew you could count your brain cells, I would have counted those, but…

(Sarah crosses her arms and drops her head. She slowly looks up as Robby enters. He is focusing on something.)

SARAH: Hey Robby, guess what Tommy’s doing…he’s counting his brain cells.

ROBBY: You know… with the technology we have today, I believe you could count your brain cells.

SARAH: Oh, good gravy! I am talking to Pinky and the Brain.

TOMMY: I’ve got it!

SARAH, no emotion: What?

TOMMY, very impressed with himself: Jeff is on number 17 and Mark is number 13.

SARAH: What on this green earth are you doing?
