Stage Set Idea:

Keep the set simple and symbolic to let the emotion of the poem shine. Consider a split-stage setup that moves through time:

• Left side of stage: A small table with two chairs and a few “young love” props—like a high school yearbook, bouquet, or wedding invitation. This represents their early years.
• Center stage: A rocking chair and a baby blanket draped over it to symbolize family life and parenting.
• Right side of stage: Two older chairs side-by-side with hands clasped (real or symbolic), a Bible between them, and possibly an anniversary photo album on a small table.

As the narrator reads, soft lighting can shift from left to right, moving the audience through time.
