Fear Doctor - Conflict

This script is the third in a three-part series on fear.

This segment focuses on “Conflict– the God who is worth everything and more.” (Matthew 10:34,37).
Each skit in this comedy series speaks to the individual fear subjects.

• Doctor Fear - very phony, loud and crass TV host
• Kim Courageous, assistant

• TV show, can be plain set or made up to resemble a TV set

• recorded cheering, applause and laughter

Props:

• phones, signs for laughter and applause, nail file

• Doctor Fear is overdone, loud colors and ridiculous
• Kim Courageous is more tastefully dressed

Kim: Ladies and gentlemen, it's that time again, Channel 9’s award winning call-in show, The Fear Doctor!
And now, the star of our show, America’s number one fear buster, offering temporary fear solutions across the nation . . . the Fear Doctor!

Kim holds up “APPLAUSE’ sign, canned applause, Doctor runs on stage

Doctor: Thank you Kim Courageous!
Good morning to all! Welcome, welcome!
Like Kim said . . I am . . . the Fear Doctor, . . . and this is . . . Temporary Fear Solutions.
(Kim holds up “APPLAUSE” sign, canned applause)
Today we focus on conflict . . . .
(glares at Kim)
Which reminds me . . I followed you down the freeway this morning . . Mind telling me what was going on at the stop lights at Jefferson and Wallace?

Kim, confused: “At the stop lights”??

Doctor: Yes, you were just like sitting there! What were you doing?

Kim: Let’s see . . . I was . . at the stop lights . . . And I was, like . . . stopped!

Doctor: The light turned green . . . and you were like . . sitting there! . . Were you waiting for them to ripen?

Kim, uncomfortable: Look Doctor Fear, best we get on with the show . . I mean, I am not like . . comfortable . . . with conflict . . .

Doctor, angry: I will say when we get on with the show . . after all, I am . . the Fear Doctor . . .

Kim holds up the “APPLAUSE” sign, canned applause SFX

Doctor: Why don’t we get right to the phones, I am sure the calls are stacked up like jumbo jets at Dulles International Airport, so eager to chat with the Fear Doctor. . dying to be guided to mental happiness through my incredible expertise . .

Kim, rolls her eyes: Your number one fan! . .

Doctor, excited: My number one fan is on the phone?

Kim: No, I meant you are your number one fan!
