What happens when faith meets doubt?
Thomas believed Jesus was the Messiah. He had witnessed miracles, traveled alongside the other disciples, and heard the teachings of Christ firsthand. Yet, despite everything he had seen, Thomas still struggled with fear and uncertainty.
When Jesus was crucified, Thomas was devastated. And when the other disciples claimed that Jesus had risen from the dead, he simply couldn't believe it. He needed proof.
In this heartfelt biblical monologue, Thomas reflects on his journey from fear and doubt to an unforgettable encounter with the risen Savior. Through his story, audiences are reminded that even those closest to Jesus wrestled with questions and uncertainty.
Perfect for Easter services, worship presentations, or messages about faith, this simple one-person drama encourages believers to bring their doubts to Christ and discover the peace that only He can provide.

THOMAS:
“Doubting Thomas.” That’s what my friends used to call me. (Laughs to himself) Oh, I remember those days. They were so long ago, yet they still feel like yesterday. Wandering from village to village, never knowing where we would go next, where we would eat, or where we would sleep. At the time, doubts would fill my mind daily.
Were we really going to have enough money for our next meal?
Were we really going to make it across the sea in the midst of a raging storm?
Were we really going to be safe?
These questions flooded my mind day and night. The unknown sent shivers down my spine, and my fellow disciples often tested my nerves. They would always tell me, “Stop doubting and have faith in Jesus. He knows what He’s doing.”
Now, there has never been a truer statement. But at the time, I questioned it. Faith? Don’t get me wrong—I had faith in Jesus. I believed wholeheartedly that He was the Messiah. But faith did not assure me of what tomorrow would hold. It did not assure me whether I would wake the next morning in my tent… or in a Roman prison cell.
And then Jesus began to tell us that… He was going to die. That when we went into Jerusalem for Passover, He would be handed over to the rulers and chief priests and be slain. When He spoke those words, a wave of fear swept over us all. And my doubts began to rise again. We had seen Jesus make the blind see, the lame leap like a deer—we had even seen Him raise the dead! Was it really going to end like this? With Him dead?
Soon we arrived in Jerusalem, and the multitudes were shouting, praising, and worshiping Jesus—a complete contrast to what He had said would happen.
Was He really going to die? Everyone seems to love Him.
