Richard’s got all the Christian swag—WWJD bracelet, Bible in hand, even a Jesus coffee cup. But when Gary confronts him about a night of manipulation and hypocrisy, it leads to a powerful challenge: If you say you’ve found God... where’s the difference? Where’s the change?

This bold, honest two-man drama cuts through the surface and digs into what real transformation looks like in the life of a believer. Perfect for services focused on Christian living, witness, or authenticity in faith.

Run-Time:

Approximately 6–8 minutes

Cast:

  • 2 Male Adults
    • Richard – flashy but superficial Christian
    • Gary – skeptical coworker, seeking something real

Biblical Reference:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
  • Matthew 5:16“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

(Richard is on stage, visibly decked out in Christian "gear": WWJD bracelet, big Bible, a “Jesus” coffee mug, etc. Gary enters.)

Richard:
Hey Gary, Praise the Lord!
(Spoken a little too energetically)
What did you think about last night?

Gary:
Man, that was a rotten thing you did to me last night.

Richard:
What do you mean, rotten?

Gary:
I mean the way you embarrassed me in front of all your so-called Christian friends.

Richard (laughs it off)
Look, if I told you we were having a Bible study group over at my house, would you have come?

Gary:
No way!

Richard:
So, I invited you for dinner.

Gary:
You didn’t serve any dinner!

Richard:
Well, we did have some chips and dip. That counts as eating.
(Poking fun at)
Besides, look at all the fun we had.

Gary:
Yeah—at my expense.

Richard:
What do you mean, at your expense?

Gary:
Look, when I agreed to talk to you at work about your “finding God” experience a couple months ago, that was in private. I didn’t want all your church buddies in on the conversation.

Richard (pause)
I knew losing that promotion at work hit you hard.
I also knew that for you to be happy again, all you needed to do was join our church and become a Christian...
(pause)
...just like me.

Gary:
