What a Wonderful Mom

A Mother’s Day tribute, (useful at any time of year), based on the melody and music of the awesome Louis Armstrong classic, "A Wonderful World."

Amid all the claims and counterclaims about the roles and makeup of the modern family, one constant remain: the very best combination to nurture children are active, committed and growing-each-day-in-the-craft mother lady and father man, showing the femininity and the masculinity so very important in role-modeling. We realize that, as someone once said, "not all parents graduate at the top of their class" but that is the status and goal for which all should both aim, and work constantly to achieve. We compassionately recognize that some children will grow up without the advantage of one or more parents. In which case, nowhere are the words of Christ more clear and meaningful than in directing those around to attempt to be there in support.

This script is written to assist kids of all ages, (including those in their adult years), to offer a constant tribute and generate salute to mothers.

A Mother’s Day Tribute

(Children stand on stage, holding flowers. A church leader and a child step forward to introduce the tribute.)

Church Leader: Today, we take a moment to celebrate the amazing women in our lives—our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all those who have nurtured us with love.

Child: Moms are the ones who pick us up when we fall, cheer us on when we succeed, and love us no matter what.

Church Leader: The Bible tells us in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Today, we honor all the wonderful moms.

Child: And now, we invite you to join us as we sing a very special song, just for them!

(Children step forward. The music begins. Throughout the song, projected images of mothers with their children appear in the background.)

Church Leader: To all the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures here today, thank you for your endless love, patience, and sacrifice. You are truly a gift from God . . .
