A Poetic Monologue on Love, Growth, and God’s Guiding Light
Theme: Relationships • Reflection • God’s Love
Run Time: ~6 minutes | Cast: Monologue | Use: Reader's Drama or Stage Performance
Journey with The Traveller©, a heartfelt and symbolic monologue that parallels the quiet rise of a seed through soil with our own paths of growth, connection, and divine purpose. As the sun awakens the earth, so too does God’s love stir hearts—bringing light to dark places and warmth to the depths of the soul.
Perfect for worship services, reader’s theater, or quiet reflection, this poetic piece invites audiences to consider how we walk alongside others, sharing in joy, pain, and the guiding presence of Christ.
Ideal for:
✔️ Solo performance or dramatic reading
✔️ Church services or small groups
✔️ Themes of support, love, and faith
Let your audience be reminded that we are all travellers—called not just to grow, but to reflect God’s love along the way.
Sample Script
As the sun rises
Over the eastern horizon,
It brings with it
Light,
To brighten the dark places;
Warmth,
To chase away the chill of the night.
The light extends
To all that is above ground,
The warmth, however, is not restricted
To that which can be seen—
But carries down deep
Below the earth’s surface,
Into the very womb of nature
From whence comes new life.
A stirring,
As seeds long dormant
Through the sleep of winter
Stir, stretch, and give birth.
Then slowly, silently,
The tender yet resilient shoots
Project and impel their way
Upward,
Through the soil which once held them captive.
Their motivation
Coming from the warmth of the sun,
Radiated downward through the folds of soil.
Warmth,
Providing the required reason
For the growth
Which is happening beyond the limits
Of “above ground” understanding.
The pale shoots journey
Through layers of different hosts:
First the accommodating clay
Which hastens the voyager
On her way to the sunny garden.
