Title: The Clown Conflict
Scene: A stage set with a simple backdrop. Two clowns enter from opposite sides, each engaged in their own activities—juggling, playing ball, using a hand puppet, etc.—ignoring each other as they move about.
(Action) Clowns accidentally bump into each other.
(Reaction) Both clowns show anger, frowning. They put hands on hips and jut their chins out. Remaining face to face, they move in a circle threateningly, eventually returning to their original positions.
(Escalation) Clown 1 slightly pushes Clown 2’s shoulder. Clown 2 pushes Clown 1 back. Clown 1 responds with a harder push. Clown 2 pushes back with equal force.
Both clowns grimace and clench their fists, preparing to spar.
(Intervention) Clown 3 enters and observes the fight. As Clowns 1 & 2 begin to spar, Clown 3 quickly intervenes.
(Resolution) Clowns 1 & 2 step apart as Clown 3 positions themselves in the center. They continue to frown. Clown 3 mimes the explanation of a duel. Clown 3 places Clowns 1 & 2 back to back.
