North Central Baptist Church church is on the move to their new building, a welcome and wonderful time, yet emotional as they leave their old church home.

Set: none, bare stage

Sample Script:

(S2 is on stage as 1 enters.)

1: All right now, everyone, time to get on the bus!

2: The bus? What’s this all about? Just why do we need a bus ride?

1: Well, you can’t very well walk—it’s clear across town! Now, hurry, quickly, everyone, please!

2: Look, I just came here to talk with Pastor Jones and…

1: Well, you certainly aren’t going to find the good pastor here. He’s at the new church.

2: No! I don’t believe it! Pastor Jones has left North Central Baptist? No, that can’t be! I mean, Pastor Jones and North Central, they just… well, they have always gone together… like… like Pastor Jones and North Central, is what!

1: Yes, they did. Yes, they have. And yes, they do!

2: Oh, would you please just stop talking in riddles and tell me what’s going on? I want to tell you, I just don’t know how much more of this I can take before…

1: We have a new church on the other side of town…

2: We? You mean to tell me you are leaving North Central and just…

1: Yes, we are all leaving it… but we are taking it with us.

2: OK, that did it! Now I am thoroughly…

(3 enters, agitated.)

3: What is holding you up, 1? Pastor Jones just called—he expected us to be there by now. He doesn’t want to start Upward Basketball until we arrive!

2: Pastor Jones is playing basketball while all the church members are moving to another church? I just have no idea what’s…

3: I have no doubt the pastor will get to shoot some baskets with the young folk, but enough chit-chat! Time to go! Onto the bus!

1: That’s what I’ve been trying to tell her! At this rate, we’ll be lucky to get there in time for Ms. Ann’s Wednesday Night Supper!
