What is the meaning of life? Is it pleasure? Possessions? Projects? Or maybe... nothing at all?

In this thought-provoking and witty drama, three characters dive headfirst into humanity’s oldest question. Bill is determined to find the meaning of life through philosophy, reason, and a fair bit of skepticism. Jane and Rhonda, however, push back with common sense and quiet faith. The result? Guzoo and Techie – Script Sample
(Comedy, 3 characters)

(Guzoo and Techie enter the stage. Guzoo walks around, deep in thought, looking up while holding the "Findslinger" upward in one hand, the other hand waving as though guiding signals.)

(Downstage center, the Findslinger (a radio-like device) begins to move violently. Techie stops, excited by the signal.)

Techie:
      We have found it, we have found the source!
      Once again my marvelous Findslinger has triumphed!
      (motions for Guzoo to move downstage center)
      Come my friend Guzoo, together we shall probe the meaning of life.

Guzoo (sings):
      Your wish is my pleasure,
      Wise Master, friend and guide
      Life is so wonderful when you are by my side.

(Guzoo moves downstage center. Techie takes out headphones, puts them on Guzoo, connects them to the Findslinger, and aims it around the stage.)

(Jamie enters, watching with curiosity and amazement.)

Techie:
      Do you feel any impulses now, Guzoo?
      Have we made connection to the source?

Guzoo (sings):
      Oh so sorry, Master, nothing’s comin’ through
      If we don’t get better luck, not sure what we will do.

Techie:
      No problem, Guzoo, we’ve only just begun...
      (moves Findslinger)
      Now then, any signals?

Guzoo (sings):
      I have had less signals
      But can’t remember when
      Maybe if I rub my nose
      We could try again.

(Guzoo rubs his nose. Jamie, now very curious, steps forward.)

Jamie:
      Excuse me...

(Techie is annoyed by the interruption.)

Techie:
      Yes, we are very busy, but how can we help you?

Jamie:
      Well, I know it’s none of my business, but...
      What are you doing, exactly?

Techie:
      Simple!
      We are finding the meaning of life.
      Now then... back to work...

Jamie:
      The meaning of life?
