The ascension. Following the resurrection Jesus is taken up to heaven, fulfilling prophesies.

Just as he promised, Jesus returned from the dead.

And after spending time with his disciples and friends he was taken up into heaven, returning to his father.

All these things are true, and were foretold.

Jesus came to earth, was born, lived and died, just as the prophets of old foretold.

All this was the fulfillment of prophesy.

But . . the fulfillment of the prophesies is not yet complete.

One last prophesy yet remains unfulfilled.

Before his death Jesus spoke to those who loved him.

His prophetic words rang true then, and still hold true today:

“I am going ahead to my father’s house to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” This, . .
