Sample Script:
(Lights up on the garden crew prepping for the Harvest Celebration. Decorations are half-up, produce is being sorted, and chaos is brewing.)
Daisy: (holding mic proudly) Hello from GNN—the Garden News Network! I’m Daisy Bloom, reporting live from the heart of the garden, where today’s top story should be a joyful harvest celebration. But tensions are rising over table placement, ribbon color, and who gets to give the welcome speech.
Petunia: I simply must be center stage. I’ve put in hours of glamorous, sweaty labor!
Rocky: Glamorous labor? You screamed when you saw a worm! And don’t get me started on the fertilizer incident...
Benny: (buzzing with excitement) Hey, hey, hey! Can I do the ribbon cutting? I brought my tiny scissors! I even polished the blades! Wait! Where did I put them? I think I dropped them!
Wanda: (lounging by the compost pile) Ha ha, ha... this is better than daytime garden TV. I love a good meltdown.
Doubty: What if nobody shows up to the Harvest? What if the fruit baskets collapse? What if—I don’t know—what if we aren’t needed? That would be just... dandy.
Daisy: (to camera) GNN Update: Emotions are overripe, teamwork is wilting, and unity is buried under the mulch. Can this garden get back to what matters?
Fern: (grinning gently, crouching into a frog stance) Everyone just needs to hop down a notch. Let’s take a breath. We’re losing the point of why we grew together in this garden in the first place.
(Rocky clunks a bucket of carrots onto the table with a huff.)
Rocky: Froggy is right. We didn’t blossom in this garden by accident. We grew together because the Master Gardener cared for each of us—tending, watering, guiding. We each have an important role to play outside this garden, but it’s God who makes this all happen. Not that I’m sentimental or anything.
Wanda: Even me? A weed? I guess my weeding skills (holding up a book) are a cut above the rest.
(Vegetables groan.)
