God teaches us how to live—even through scribbles!
This short, heartwarming skit features four children as they explore a drawing of the Garden of Eden and learn how God uses His Word to guide our choices. What starts as a disagreement about a "scribble" becomes a powerful discussion on obedience, consequences, and the love of Jesus.
Perfect for Sunday school, children’s church, or VBS, this skit requires no sets or costumes—just a single piece of paper and willing hearts. With a simple salvation prayer at the end, it also creates a meaningful moment for children to consider following Jesus.
Fun, thoughtful, and easy to stage, this skit reminds us all that God's rules aren't just rules—they’re lessons of love.

God Teaches Us How to Live
Cast: Four children | Props: One piece of paper
1: What are you doing?
2: Drawing a picture.
3: A picture? All I see is scribbling.
2: It’s a picture of a garden.
1: So where are the vegetables?
3: Yes, what is a garden without vegetables?
4: Our garden doesn’t have vegetables, only flowers.
2: My picture is a flower garden, that’s why you can’t see vegetables.
4: Not a good flower garden either, cause I don’t see any flowers.
2: Sure, there are flowers.
3 (looks carefully at picture):
Nope, I don’t see flowers, only scribbling.
2: Why do you keep saying this is scribbling? That’s not very nice.
1: 2 is right. Jesus teaches us we need to be nice to each other.
4: You are right, 1. Sorry, 2.
1: Tell me about your picture, 2.
3: Yes, what kind of garden is it?
2: It’s the Garden of Eden.
4: You mean like in the Bible?
1: My mom read me the story of the Garden of Eden from my Bible.
4: It is a lovely picture. The Garden of Eden must have been beautiful.
3: What happened in the Garden of Eden?
2: God made Adam and Eve and put them in the garden.
4: They had a good time there.
3: I don’t understand. They aren’t in the picture.
1: Yes, 2, why aren’t they in your picture?
2 (points to picture):
See that apple tree?
3: You mean that up and down scribble?
2: It is not a scribble, it’s a tree!
4: Tell us about the tree, 2.
2: God made all things and told Adam and Eve to enjoy them.
1: I remember. God told them not to eat the apple from that tree.
3: Wow, so they stayed away from the tree, right?
4: Actually, no. Eve ate the apple.
3: After God told her not to?
2: Satan told Eve to do it, and she listened to him.
3: Even though she wasn’t supposed to?
