Scene:
Tracy (sadly): Oh, Diane, I'm sure going to miss you. Can you believe how fast the years here at Bible College have gone by? I'm so glad we could share a dorm room for all those years.
Diane (cheerfully): Don't worry, Tracy! We'll keep in touch. I know we're going to churches on opposite ends of the country, but we'll write and call each other every week!
Tracy: I guess… but I hope we don't get too busy for each other. After all— (very proudly) I am going to be a Youth Pastor!
Diane (excitedly): I think that's great! I can't wait to start in my new church. I guess they haven't had a music pastor for years! I've got big plans for that church!
Tracy: Me too! I think the elders were so impressed with all the work I’ve been doing with various youth groups around here that they felt I was the best candidate.
Diane: I think that's how I got my position as well! You wouldn't believe all the work I've put into planning different music programs for churches all over the city—and on my own time, too!
Tracy: I know what you mean! I set up an after-school program for high school kids to keep them off the street. It took a lot of patience and planning, but it was a great success. I always had at least 25 kids out!
Diane (nods proudly): That's great! I've been spending every Monday afternoon with a group of seniors. You know how busy my Mondays are, but nevertheless, I go down to the drop-in center and play hymns on the piano and sing some church choruses for them. They say they always enjoy my company!
Tracy: Speaking of singing, I have worked with two youth girls, and they have decided to lead choruses at the youth Bible studies. They said they owe it all to me!
Diane (grinning): What would people do without good servants of God like us?
Tracy: Nothing would get that's what! Do you know that I lead three grade eight boys to the Lord last week?
Diane: Grade eight boys? Wow, you really must have worked hard. That age is not easy to witness to! Oh, did I tell you about Mr. Peterson at the Elm Street Church?
Tracy: Is he the man who just had the heart surgery and everyone was calling to thank you because you had set up a prayer chain for him?|
Diane: No, no, that's Mr. Patterson at the Maple Street Church, the one that I lead the music at the 10:00 service. Mr. Peterson is from the Elm Street Church where I lead the music during the 11:30 service. Anyway, he came up to me when I was shaking hands and said how much he appreciated the choruses I chose that day. He said they really touched him.
