Gotta tell you about the other day, I was cleaning up some work around the office, two guys from Accounting, they came into my office.  You know how it is, you’re busy, trying to get things done, a dozen deadlines to meet, guys simply won’t leave you alone.  But being the boss, you can’t just ignore them, can you?  Don’t get me wrong, Jack and Jimmy are good enough guys, just not always right on the ball, know what I mean?  But when the chips are down they are guys who will be there for the cause, know what I mean?  Come from good stock, those guys do.  Their father, Zeb, him and me went back long time, solid as a rock, him and his wife were.

Anyhow, Jack and Jimmy they just hung around, easy to tell something’s on their mind, know what I mean?  Reminded me of times when guys come in, you know very well what they’re up to is getting up nerve to ask for a raise, know what I mean?  Except this time, it seemed a little different, no kibitzing around, serious kinda.

So I figured best thing to do’s to just ride it out, find out what’s the subject.

Jack and Jimmy kept looking at each other, plain they were hoping that the other guy would get up nerve to ask whatever it was on their mind.  Kinda humorous actually to watch them, know what I mean?

After a bit, Jack he says, “So, how’s things coming at the new office?”

Fact is, we were planning on moving to a new office building, this old place simply isn’t up to standards anymore, needs a lotta work, know what I mean?  So we were planning on the move to the new location.  Man, gonna be great, more space, just all round awesome, I tell you!

But I couldn’t figure out the question.  Jack and Jimmy, being in Accounting, why they knew exactly what was happening at the new office, I had filled them in on every little detail, right from the beginning.  So I knew there had to be more to the question than met the eye.
