I Pledge Allegiance To The Lamb performed through Human Video.

(the type of dance/interpretive movement done by miming the words in the music).
The intent is that each dancer would begin to intuitively mirror the words/concept of the song by displaying the emotions through the entire body, face, eyes, hands, all of which promote inner feelings to be clearly displayed by the audience.

The script uses the words of Ray Boltz' song “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb." We ask that all who use the script will support the writers and singers by purchasing a copy online or in music store.

Sample Script:

(Tyrant and guards quickly move to upstage positions, watching with amusement as the Christians come on stage.)

(Christians enter with hand on heart, miming the words of the song, ending up in a straight line at center stage.)

NOTE: This entry lasts only approximately 40 seconds, so actors must be in place offstage and clear on where they are going.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

(Guards "force" the Christians to bow to the Tyrant.)

(Tyrant stands at upstage center, adopting an attitude of strength and superiority, feet spread, arms folded across chest.)

(Guards "throw" the Christians, who show fear, to the floor in front of the Tyrant.)

I have heard how Christians long ago
Were brought before a tyrant's throne
They were told that he would spare their lives

(Tyrant looks down at Christians, threateningly pointing with index finger at them.)

If they would renounce

(Tyrant’s gaze and index finger move upward.)

the name of Christ

(Christians, one at a time, look at Tyrant, then look upward, smile, take on a powerful attitude, stand upright, and shake heads negatively.)

But one by one they chose to die

(All Christians touch one another, smiling, move downstage, looking upward, and fall to knees.)

The Son of God they would not deny

(Christians look at each other in wonderment and awe, smile, look upward. One will touch ear, listening.)

(Tyrant and guards move downstage near Christians, looking at them, unable to understand what is happening.)

(Two Christians approach Tyrant and guards, inviting them to look up and listen. Tyrant and guards "start to get the message.")

Like a great angelic choir sings
I can almost hear their voices ring

(All actors except the Tyrant stand at attention, hand on heart, miming the words.)

(Tyrant stands belligerently, staring at the others, frowning.)

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
