A comedy about a guy that has already formed an opinion about "bricklayers" before he even got to know one. Do we sometimes look at people we don't know, that way? Are Christians viewed that way?

Keywords: Christians, hypocrite, prejudice, generalization

Cast: two actors, any age, male or female

Time: This skit would likely have a runtime of about 3-4 minutes, depending on the pacing and delivery of the actors.

Sample of script:

Bobby: So, Billie, what are you doing tonight?

Billie: Nothing, don’t have anything planned.

Bobby: Listen, why don’t you come with me? I’m going to a friend’s house, there’s going to be a whole bunch of people there.

Billie: Sounds interesting, just so long as they aren’t a buncha trowel waving Bricklayers!

Bobby: Bricklayers? You don’t like Bricklayers, I take it?

Billie: I’d sure never trust any bricklayer, wouldn’t have anything to do with them!

Bobby: I don’t follow. Why are you so uptight about Bricklayers? I mean, I have some bricklayers who are really good friends.

Billie: I’ve never run into a Bricklayer who wasn’t a phony, a hypocrite! They say one thing during the week, but you should see them on the weekend. Sad, just a buncha hypocrites!

Bobby: I can’t see that, give me an example.

Billie: Bricklayer I knew once, he’d be just the model goody two shoes bricklayer at work, everything by the manual, tellin’ everyone how they oughta do the job. But you shoulda seen him after hours! Adding extra water to the mortar, low quality sand, not checkin’ to be sure the level of the bricks was runnin’ true, usin’ off-colour bricks.

Bobby: Yeh, but that was just one person, just because one Bricklayer is a jerk, doesn’t mean all Bricklayers are like that.

Billie: Trust me, Bricklayers, they’re all the same!

Bobby: Well, Billie, I don’t know quite how to tell you this, but I just became a Bricklayer.

Billie: Nah! You’re puttin’ me on! You? A Bricklayer?
