DramaShare Presents: Jane Harris’ Gospel Balloon Collection

DramaShare is pleased to facilitate the sale of Jane Harris’ excellent collection of gospel balloon routines.

Have Balloons, Will Travel

A downloadable collection by Jane Harris—pastor, balloon artist, and long-time DramaShare contributor.

This book contains 12 gospel balloon routines designed for church and mission use, all of which Jane has used in her ministry.

  • Some routines are simple, requiring little or no balloon twisting skills.
  • More advanced routines include directions to instructional resources.
  • Ralph Dewey praised the collection:
“Great job. I always enjoy seeing how people use their balloon talents to serve the Lord.”

This book includes photos, patter, and tips for effective presentation.

Source

"This is one of my own. It was created for a street-type ministry but was a favorite of our Granddaughter Elizabeth when she was 3. She called herself Bizzeleth."

alloon Gospel Lesson: A Christian in Full Bloom

Step 1: The Question

Ask:
“What do you need to do to become a Christian?”

Accept all answers until someone says something like:
"Put Jesus in your heart."

(At this point, make a tulip twist in the balloon.)

Step 2: Growing in Faith

Ask:
“Okay, now that I have Christ in my heart, how can I learn more about Christ and God?”

(Depending on the audience, younger children may better understand "God" instead of "Jesus.")

Give clues until you receive the answers:

  • “Pray” (Mime praying by folding hands and bowing head.)
  • “Read the Bible” (Mime opening a book or holding up an actual Bible.)

(For each correct response, make a fold twist petal in the balloon. Now, your balloon has two petals.)

Step 3: The Greatest Commandment

Ask:
“Does anyone know what Jesus said was the most important commandment?”

(Some may know the scripture below. If no one responds quickly, read it or ask someone else to read it.)

Matthew 22:37-39
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Add another petal to the balloon flower.)
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Add another petal to complete the flower.)

A Christian in Full Bloom!

At this point, the balloon flower is fully formed—a visual representation of a growing Christian!

Additional Comments & Tips

  • Ask a pastor or teacher the children know to read the scripture for added impact.
  • This works well for all age groups.
  • A fellow pastor once joked,
“You can share the salvation message in 60 seconds—what takes me 30 minutes!”
