Jesus’ coming will be fulfilled in his good time, but the expectation, the preparation, the joy, the excitement . . is a now thing, and we need to have commitment to the message!

Pat: Have you heard the news?

Terry: What’s all the commotion about? What news?

Pat: You haven’t heard the news? I thought everyone had heard!

Terry: No, I have not heard! Now, what is the news?

Pat: You don’t know?

Terry: Look, if I knew I wouldn’t be asking, would I?

Pat: Advent!

Terry: Advent?

Pat: Advent!

Terry: Advent? What makes Advent news?

Pat: Advent is news because it’s happening.

Terry: Happening? . . . What's happening.

Pat:  Jesus is happening! . .  Jesus is coming!

Terry:  Jesus?  Happening?   Coming? . . I don't understand.

Pat:  I told you! . . It's Advent.  Advent is happening! . .  That means Jesus is coming!

Terry: Well, of course, I know it's Advent! But, that's not news! I mean, Advent
happens every year!

Pat: Of course, it happens every year. But, it is REALLY happening right now!

Terry: You really have me confused! How can something happen every year,
but, really . . .
