What can be expected in a father's gifts to his child? Compare human fathers with God's great gifts to all His children. These are gifts that a father can give his child much like our Heavenly Father gives His children.

Cast: 2

Based on Matthew 7:7-12

Sample of script:

Tom: Hi, there Phil, how ya doin’?

Phil: Tom! Haven’t seen ya since, let’s see, guess it was when your wife was in the hospital having your child. That has to be . . .

Tom: Eight months. Timmy is eight months old now. Which means, your child . . .

Phil: Helen’s eight months as well.

Tom: Makes sense, bein’ born the same day and all.

Phil: Right! You’re right. Same day. So, how’s . . .

Tom: . . . . Timmy . . .

Phil: Right, Timmy, how’s Timmy doing?

Tom: Timmy’s starting to stand up, holding on. Takes a step or two.

Phil: Wow! That’s real early to walk! Helen, she’s not even trying to stand.

Tom: Well, I guess us having two older children, Timmy just naturally learns earlier.

Phil: Probably right, Helen, she’s our first.

Tom: As I recall, your sister-in-law was in the hospital at the same time, she had a baby, what, day before ours?

Phil: Yeh, right, June and Ted, they had a girl, Terry.

Tom: Right, that’s right. How’s Terry doing?

Phil: Well, actually June and Ted, well, they’re going through a rough time right now.

Tom: Sorry to hear that. Trouble, you mean with the baby?

Phil: No, not really, marriage trouble, more like. But they seem to take out their frustrations on little Terry.

Tom: Aww, that’s awful. Having a child is such a great experience, how could anyone . . .

Phil: Well, it seems like the more that June and Ted drift apart, the more they neglect little Terry’s needs.

Tom: Neglect? You mean . .

Phil: Well, it’s not as if they don’t look after her, I mean, it’s just that, they complain all the time about what a nuisance she is, how noisy she is. Always something.

Tom: But, she’s just a baby!
