Pastor says: The great thing about Children's Church is that you get to learn about God and about people in the Bible who have served God. And this morning we have a special treat for you! We have a very special person coming to talk to you in Children's Church this morning.
Gideon enters sanctuary from side door:
Good morning! My name is Gideon. I'm sure that all of you have heard of me. This morning we are going to go to your Sunday School room and talk about a time in my life when God asked me to do something for Him. Now let's suppose that God asked you to do something for Him. How do you suppose you would feel?
Do you think that you would feel frightened? Well, I felt frightened too! Would you feel too small to do a special task for God? . . . . So did I! I was sure that God should have chosen someone smarter and older. But I said to God, if this is your will, fine, but can you give me a sign that would prove to my frightened heart that indeed I was capable.
So I got one of these. (Holds up a piece of fleece). Do you know what this is? . . . . . . . . It is called a fleece. Where do we get fleece from? . . . . Fleece is the hair that is cut off sheep to make into cloth. This cloak that I am wearing, and many of the clothes that you children are wearing came from the fleece of a sheep.
