Lighting: standard

SFX: none

Props:

• A bag with props in it, marked “Heaven’s Bag” A certificate, a bible, a medal or award, some snacks and a bar of soap. Also some silly item, a balloon pump in this case..

Costumes:

• Toad can wear a Toad hat and clothing, while the second actor can wear a frog outfit, depending on the creative team’s preference. Alternatively, Toad can wear a brown t-shirt with the word “TOAD,” and Frog can wear a green t-shirt with the word “FROG.” Both can have brown and green face paint spots on their faces to complete the look.

Sample of script:

Toad is in the room, looking through his bag. Frog enters.

Toad: Frog! See what I have. I have a bag of things that will get me into heaven.

Frog: Hello, Toad. Are you planning on leaving soon?

Toad: Well, no. But the pastor says we should be ready at any time. You never know!

Frog: That’s true.

Toad: So I decided to be sure I am ready. That’s why I put together this bag.

Frog: So, what do you have in the bag?

(Toad pulls out each item in turn.)

Toad: Good stuff. See! Here is my perfect Sunday School attendance certificate!

Frog: That’s really great, Toad. But that won’t get you into heaven.

Toad: It won’t? I haven’t missed a day since I was a pollywog.

Frog: And that’s very good, but…

Toad: I’ve got some soap and a washcloth too, because I know you have to be clean and pure.

Frog: Clean and pure of HEART, Toad.

Toad: Doesn’t the bible say that ‘cleanliness is next to Godliness?

Frog: I think that was your grandmother.
