Being ordinary versus being extraordinary.

Our achievements may seem pretty amazing but they pale when compared to the sacrifices Jesus made for us.

• Adam, a model
• Lynn, track star
• Charlie, math wizard
• Spencer, a lifesaver
• 2 or more soccer players

Props:

Rubiks Cube, soccer ball

Costumes:

• Lynn might be in track suit, Charlie could be the bookworm type with round glasses, soccer players could be dressed in team uniforms

Special Instructions:

• If drama is being performed in competition ensure that you time it since the time allowed is exactly what the organizers demand. Time will usually include setup and takedown.

Adam comes on stage, looks in “mirror”

Adam: My, my, I do look good!

Lynn comes on stage, watches Adam

Lynn: Got something on your chin Adam?

Adam: Where, what do you see? . . (looks in mirror) . . . Nothing on my chin I tell you!

Lynn: Then what are you looking at in the mirror?

Adam, proudly: Just looking at my gorgeous self!

Lynn: No conceit in your family, you’ve got it all. . . But I have to hand it to you, nice to see you won that modeling contest.

Adam: Thanks Lynn. Speaking of looking good, I hear things are going great for you on the track!

Lynn: Yep, awesome! . . I won gold in the 500 meter at regionals.

Adam: Good for you, and I read in the paper you’ve never been beaten in any race this season.

Lynn: I have a good coach and I have been training really hard.

Charlie comes on stage, playing with a rubiks cube

Lynn: Here comes the brainiac! . . . Hey Charlie!

Charlie, ignoring Lynn: I am having trouble figuring this out!

Lynn: Earth to Charlie, come in Charlie!

Charlie: Oh sorry Lynn, Mom bought me this advanced Rubiks Cube and it is some challenging I tell ya!

Adam: Well if you are having trouble just think how much trouble the rest of the world would be having.

Lynn: My Dad always says, “How come you couldn’t be a math wizard like Charlie?”

Charlie: Actually Lynn, math is a piece of cake, but this silly thing has me some puzzled!

Adam: Wow, trigonometry is no problem but a puzzle has Charlie puzzled! Wow!

Spencer comes on stage

Charlie: Hey Spencer, how is our hometown hero?

Spencer, uneasy: I am OK.

Lynn: I haven’t talked to you since the fire Spencer, just want you to know how proud I am to have you as a friend, for all you did.

Adam: Me too Spencer, I’m looking forward to being there when they give you the Lifesaving award.

Spencer: Well fact is I am a bit embarrassed with all the attention, fact is I will be kinda glad when it’s all over.

Charlie: You deserve it Spencer, what you did took a lot of courage, helping that kid when her clothes were on fire.

Spencer: Fact is, anyone would have done the same, I was there when it happened, that’s all.

Charlie: Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn’t, but you did.
