A puppet comedy written by DramaShare friend Carol Warren illustrates the fact if we don't tap into the Holy Spirit we can't be "on fire" for the Lord. Children will love this drama.
Cast: 2 Purple and The Brian are puppets
Bible Reference: John 20:22
Set: bare
Lighting: standard
Sound: wireless mics if available
Song: none
SFX: none
Costumes: standard
Props: BE CAREFUL!!! Fake dynamite with fake fuse (use sparklers the kind you use to light fire crackers. A Co2 fire extinguisher with cone head, Glitter and confetti, lighter, fire proof tarp to put back stage so the sparkler doesn't burn a hole if it lands on something.
Special Instructions: BE CAREFULL!!!! The dynamite is a red tube with a sparkler in the top. Lighting the sparkler makes the dynamite look like the fuse is lit. The explosion is done with a C/o2 fire extinguisher and confetti. At the proper time - with the cone prefilled loosely with confetti make a couple of long blasts on the C/o2 fire extinguisher and it will make the sound and the smoke. At that exact same time have someone throw the brain puppet straight up in the air and scream letting it fall again behind the stage. Mess up it's tie and have his glasses half off etc. for when he crawls up to reappear.
Time: 8
Sample of script:
Purple: Oh, hi, Brain. I'm so glad you're here I've been looking everywhere for you.
Brain: Yes, I am currently inhabiting a space-time continuum that you can access.
Purple: Whaaaaat?
Brain: (a little agravated) I am here what do you need?
Purple: I've been trying to understand this verse about uhhh what was it, Oh yeah, the Holy Ghost and power. Yeah that was it, and I got real confused.
Brain: Have you interface with the proper media to extricate the data required?
Purple: Huh?
Brain: Did you look in the Bible to see what it says?
Purple: Yeah but I didn't understand what it means by the Holy Ghost and power so I came to you cause you're sooooo smart.
Brain: Yes, I am! Well in looking at the original Greek text the word used for power was dunamus. This is the same word we derive the word dynamite from. Purple: So the Holy Spirit will blow us up? Ouch that will hurt. Brain: Not exactly, allow me to illustrate to you by using this stick of dynamite.
Puppet leaves for a second and comes back holding fake dynamite. You can rubber band it to his hand and the Purple will take it off and set it down.]
Brain: You see this dynamite has a great deal of power but as you can see I am holding it and I am not hurt because I have not taken the necessary measures to access that power.
