Staging Information

DramaShare Readings are designed to introduce, or to emphasize, a sermon.

Sample of script:

Reader #1: But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Reader #2: Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave -- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Reader #3: But among you it is quite different. Anyone wanting to be a leader among you must be your servant. And if you want to be right at the top you must serve like a slave. Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.
Reader #4: But among Christian couples, it is really quite different. If you wish to be the head of the house, you must start by taking out the garbage. And if you want to be the Christian couple whom God will honor, you must be eager to rush home and scrub the walls, at a time, and in such a way that your partner will never know that you have done it. You need not just a positive attitude, but a positively Christ-like commitment to support of your mate, your family, your community, your church and your God.

Matthew 23:11-12:
Reader #1: But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Reader #2: The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Reader #3: The more lowly your service to others, the greater you are. To be greatest, be a servant. But those who think themselves great shall be disappointed and humbled; and those who humble themselves shall be exalted.
Reader #4: Happiness begins by making a nice meal or shoveling the walk. But it can't end there. Happiness comes only as and when you move beyond the required and expected duties and into those which you really don't have to do. The more you find yourself able to obtain pleasure in serving the secret and hidden wants of your mate, the greater shall be your own yield. It is impossible to become your most happy unless and until you have done everything in your power to make your mate happy. Thank God that you can't ever raise yourself up by stepping on the emotions, dreams, feelings, and sensitivities of your mate. An increase in the personal pleasures and well-being of a Christian couple can only come as together, hand-in-hand they climb upward in a growing and mutually sustaining relationship.
