A graduation celebration they’ll never forget—because it’s anything but typical!
Get ready for a hilarious and heartwarming walk down memory lane in this one-of-a-kind comedy sketch perfect for youth or young adult graduation services. Behold the Graduates© brings together zany game show energy, reality TV twists, and a big dose of spiritual truth.
With a sleazy game show host, some unexpected “reality doubles” (think Rhonda standing in for Cory), and plenty of audience interaction, this 8-minute performance delivers both laughter and love. Your graduates will be cheered, roasted (lightly!), and reminded of the incredible foundation their youth group and church family have given them.

If possible, use the opposite sex of the person as “reality” person
Host, (sleazy game show/salesperson type)
Offstage voices can be live or taped

Time: 8 minutes
Sample script:
(Host enters to the chorus of “Champion.” Audience applause, whistling, and cheering erupt.)

Thank you, thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Yes, yes, yes, here we are — the big day has finally arrived! Today is the day when we . . . (drum roll) . . . honor our . . . (another drum roll that goes on and on. Host smiles nervously, makes frantic off-stage hand motions to stop it. Finally screams out:)
HOST:
ENOUGH ALREADY!
(Drummer stops. One final short drum roll. Host glares off-stage, regains composure, and smiles a sickeningly sweet smile.)
HOST:
Now, where were we . . . ah yes, the day when we honor . . . (drummer makes one final “pop” sound)
(Host jumps into a Barney Fife-style judo pose.)
HOST:
I said . . . honor our . . . graduates!
It is a commonly known fact that the (insert name of church) youth group is the lovingest, most awesomest youth group that ever did draw a breath. Why, I just heard that our youth group is famous in the likes of Abilene, Dallas, and New York City!
OFF-STAGE VOICES:
Really?
HOST:
Well . . . maybe not New York City.
OFF-STAGE VOICES:
In Dallas?
HOST:
Well, maybe I let myself kinda . . .
OFF-STAGE VOICES:
But we are famous in Abilene?
HOST (annoyed):
Fine then — but I do know we are a household name in (insert name of tiny nearby town)!
OFF-STAGE VOICES:
Woooo hooooooo! Doesn’t get much better than that!
HOST:
Yes, well . . . anyway.
Welcome, welcome, one and all!
Welcome to . . . (drum roll begins again — host winces, covers ears, talks louder)
HOST:
I said . . . welcome to “Behold the Graduate!”
A pleasant walk down memory lane as we revisit some of the high points . . . and low . . . of our (Add year) graduates from (insert name of church) youth group!
(Crowd noise, applause, cheering, and whistling.)
Note: Use real names of graduates for personalization.
