In a world clouded by war, fear, and uncertainty, two people stand silently watching a Veterans Day or Remembrance Day parade—each carrying a very different question in their heart.
This powerful short drama explores the tension between despair and belief, between the horrors of human history and the hope that faith still dares to offer. No set, no props—just raw, honest dialogue that invites audiences to wrestle with what it means to trust in God amidst chaos.
Perfect for Veteran’s Day, Remembrance Day, or any service that honors those who have served and points toward the deeper hope found in God.

Two actors are miming watching a parade go by.
1:
See the veterans marching, makes you proud to be a (name of country), doesn’t it?
2:
What are they marching for?
1:
What are they marching for? You know what they are marching for. It’s (depending on country: Veterans Day / Remembrance Day).
2:
I know that, but what do they have to march for?
1:
These are the people who have served in the many wars in which we have been involved, from the Korean War to the Second World War, even some from the First World War.
They march to acknowledge the part they played keeping our country free.
2:
That’s just my point. We are far from free. We are under a cloud of fear.
1:
But as you can see in the lives of those who are marching today, we can’t ever abandon the pursuit of freedom for which our country stands.
2:
Big words! All I see is men and women from another age, another time; marching here while all over the world there is turmoil, fighting, terrorism, unspeakable misery and violence.
1:
There is no doubt that the events of the last few months have shaken us to the very foundations of our belief in peace and serenity.
2:
Shaken us? Better to admit that it has forever destroyed our belief in the possibility of peace ever happening again.
1:
We must believe that peace will be restored.
2:
That’s where you are wrong. Our world will never again know peace, never again.
1:
Those who have terrorized the world shall be found, shall be stopped.
