Listen to Him Wedding Toast

A wedding toast by a parent to a son or daughter and new spouse, reminding how important it is to accept the advice of God rather than the advice of men.

Sample of script:

To my (child) and to (name of new spouse), (his/her) chosen oneDo you know how proud I am of you my (son/daughter)? My pride is increased as I have gotten to know your chosen one.(name of new spouse), you are a beautiful (man/lady), I am proud to be your (mother/father) -in-law.

A wedding is an occasion when a parent can give advice to an adult (son/daughter)Without being ignored, corrected, or upstaged! As you would expect, my comments are Biblically grounded

For my God is an integral part of who I am. My Bible has many instances of advice given to a (son/daughter)In particular, in Proverbs, I see advice both helpful and poetic:“Listen my son, be wise, and keep your heart on the right path.”
